Meet the Partners

Orest P. Baransky is a full-time practicing CPA and a CFP (Certified Financial Planner). He is a partner in the accounting firm of Baransky & Vaccaro, LLP with offices in Commack, Long Island and Manhattan in New York City. His work is primarily concentrated in small and medium sized companies. Although his practice is a general practice he does have a degree of expertise in the following industries; Wholesale distributors, Construction, Health Care Professionals, Computer Consultants, Printing and Graphics. His work involves preparation of Financial Statements, Tax planning and preparation, management consulting, Financial Planning for Businesses and Individuals. Professional memberships include, among others, the American Institute of C.P.A.s (AICPA), The NYS Society of C.P.A.s (NYSSCPA) Suffolk Chapter, and the Financial Planners Association, Suffolk Chapter.

He has lectured before groups of accountants, other professionals, executives, and lay groups on matters involving Corporate Taxation and Individual tax planning.

He has served on the AICPA S Corporation National Committee, NYSSCPA Nassau Chapter Federal Taxation Committee, and the NYSSCPA Congressional Liaison Committee.

Community service includes work as President, Divisional officer, Financial; Advisor to numerous civic, fraternal, religious, political, and charitable organizations.

Richard W. Vaccaro, a full time practicing CPA as well as a CFP (Certified Financial Planner), is a graduate of the State University of New York at Albany in June of 1978 with a degree in Accounting, magna cum laude. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the New York State Society of Certified Public Accounts (NYSSCPA).

Mr. Vaccaro sits on the Non-Profit Committee of the Long Island Association and the Small Business Council of the Long Island Association. In addition to being a CPA, Mr. Vaccaro is licensed as an independent health and life insurance broker and an independent securities broker.

He has served a wide range of governmental, non profit, financial and commercial clients, developing an expertise in the government and non profit sector as well as the travel industry and the manufacturing sector.

Mr. Vaccaro has specialized in small business accounting systems consulting including Peachtree, QuickBooks and Business Works. Mr. Vaccaro is the driving force behind the firm’s commitment to its memberships in the QuickBooks Professional Advisor Program and the Peachtree AccountCare Program. Under the direction of Mr. Vaccaro, the QuickBooks consulting and accounting practice has expanded drastically and is expected to provide continued growth for the firm.
